Over a number of years The Crown Group and its Directors with the co-operation and assistance from all its members of staff, have always volunteered and made donations to charities trying to give back to our communities the success it has achieved. We realised we were not maximising the opportunities and various companies within the Group were undertaking ad hoc and divided charity support and we wished to streamline this and combine it together so that it could achieve better results. The Crown Foundation was born, was set up as an official charity under number 1125071 with a board of Trustees who meet on a regular basis to discuss its affairs. A contribution is made each year by the companies within The Crown Group, some more than others depending on size and turnover. We also make money by asking each independent company Directors and employees to come up with fundraising initiatives and to appoint fundraising representatives within the companies. The aim is for these people to create 2 fund raising initiatives per year in aid of a charity or a cause local to their business or venue in which they operate. There are a number of objectives this will satisfy. They will be able to support charities in their area and also demonstrate to clients and local businesses their ability to support local initiatives rather than just the large charities the Foundation has been funding.

We will allow time off for staff to undertake these fund raising initiatives which could be as simple as a “dress down Friday” or something much more involved such as a sponsored bike ride etc. Whatever is raised by these local initiatives, the Crown Group will match the donation pound by pound.

The Event Hire Company have already sponsored a local football team by way of a donation and set up a fund raising quiz night in aid of Comic Relief. Paradise Wildlife Park have offered their site and use of an inflatable 5 aside football pitch for the possibility of teams around the Crown Group consisting of 6 players and to have a team and therefore would be fancy dress.
