Each year the Foundation's Trustees decide which national and local charities to support. This year, the decision was made to continue supporting our two existing partners, as well as some local initiatives.

Make-A-Wish grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses. Since being established in the UK in 1986, the charity has granted over 7,000 wishes to children.
There are 20,000 children and young people living in the UK with a life-threatening illness and, this year alone, 1,200 will turn to the charity to have their special wish granted.
The charity has set a fundraising target of £5.5m and we are doing our best to help in our own little way via various fundraising activities.
We have worked with this worldwide organisation for a number of years as they continue to help to serve children in 47 countries on five continents through its 36 affiliate offices.

The Forces Children’s Trust has long been a charitable partner of the Crown Group.
The organisation was first set up in 2004 by West End entertainer Denny Wise, who identified the real need to help and support children who have either lost parents, or have parents who have been seriously injured while serving in the Armed Forces.
The FCT has helped hundreds of children since it was first established and the donations we provide helps to fund a whole range of activities for children with very different needs.
This could be anything from helping to support children with specific emotional or learning requirements, right the way through to treating children to trips to the theatre.

As part of our Crown Foundation charitable work, we encourage our staff to come up with creative fundraising activities to help support our chosen charities, as well as contribute to our communities.
As a business, we match every pound raised by our staff for our chosen charities.
Our fundraising activities have included raising over £10,000 as part a staff trip headed by our managing partner to the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro, right the way through to a cupcake-a-thon at one of our venues.
We also believe in using our skills and expertise to support communities and good causes wherever we can. For example our chefs volunteer to cook at charity events and we have developed apprenticeship programmes to support young people in our local areas.
